MagillOnLiterature Plus (MOL+) contains the complete
contents of 150 reference volumes, from Salem Press's literature
collection, in a fully-integrated and enhanced database. This
powerful resource allows the student of literature to mine the
critically acclaimed content of our Masterplots,
Critical Survey, and other literary product lines for a
deeper, clearer understanding of a literary work and its author.
Designed to assist all users, from first-time novice to
sophisticated researcher, MOL+ offers search tools
thoughtfully constructed by the editors to provide easy access to
all useful content.
With more than 35,000 analyses of literary titles, MOL+
is easily the most comprehensive online database for research on
individual works of literature from all genres. It contains four
times more reference works analyses than its closest competitor
and includes, in addition, more than 20,000 literary character
discussions and 6,000 literary place discussions. Furthermore,
MOL+ provides 6,800 biocritical essays on the most studied
authors in schools and universities.
Full-text essays are indexed and cross-referenced across the
entire database. Multiple, fully integrated search and retrieval
options help the user find not only a specific title but also
related or similar works, works that share a common setting, theme
or character type, and works by the same author. Authors may be
studied in the context of an era or movement, cultural cohort, or
national affiliation. Topical overviews give the reader a fuller
understanding of genres, movements, and regional literatures. The
comprehensive glossary links the user to and from relevant text.
All the full-text data in MOL+ is exclusively maintained
by the editors at Salem Press. The database is updated quarterly
so that the user always has access to up-to-date lists of
principal works by the most studied authors and annotated
bibliographies of current resources for further study.
